Description

“Blow Bubbles – No Troubles”

Becoming a PADI Open Water Diver is the beginning of a life long adventure, which enhances your time off work and holidays. For many, to dive the Great Barrier Reef is a life goal (bucket list), so choosing to become a PADI Open Water Diver on the Great Barrier Reef will set you apart.

The PADI Open Water Diver Course has three sections:

Knowledge Development – the five (5) sections teach you about the concepts, equipment selection, planning and team work involved in scuba diving.

Confined Water Dives – the five (5) sessions teach you to scuba dive in a controlled environment with no distractions, with skills like neutral buoyancy, buddy contact, swimming underwater and much more.

Open Water Dives – the four (4) dives give you a chance to show that you can scuba dive, you just demonstrate the same skills as you did in the pool. The five confined water dives have well prepared you to be here, on the Great Barrier Reef, the only difference is that now the fish are watching.

At ABC Dive and Snorkel, we pride ourselves on our quality and relaxed atmosphere throughout your PADI Open Water Diver Course. This is achieved with small class numbers, and also conducting all 5 pool dives separately to enhance your development and confidence, this is where you learn to dive. Remember “diving is fun and learning should be too”

With this option you need an access code issued through our web site, so that you can complete the study from the comfort of your home, on the other side of the world or country, with PADI eLearning. This means that your time commitment here is only three (3) days, two (2) of these days are diving on the Great Barrier Reef, while the first (1) day is spent in Port Douglas completing the 5 confined water dives. A great option for those who would like to get certified on the Great Barrier Reef, but have limited time available.

Please note that we strongly recommend partaking in a 4 or 5 day course if you have the time as it allows for a better understanding of the material and will ensure you are a more comfortable, safe and confident diver by the end of your course.

Includes

Required materials (manual, log book, dive tables)
Confined Water Dive sessions, five (5) of them
Knowledge Development sessions, five (5) of them
All Scuba equipment for Confined Water and Open Water Dives
