Port Douglas Day Boat Diving and Snorkelling Tours

Outer Reef Snorkeling - ‘Take a snorkel on the wild side’ - Adventure Snorkeling$399.00
Description

The price is high but so is the experience! As we only take a handful of people to the reef, remember you are paying for one of our limited numbers of seats aboard or own exclusive dive/snorkel vessel for a unique outer Great Barrier Reef adventure!

‘Take a snorkel on the wild side’ – Adventure Snorkeling

Our adventure snorkel days are an exciting opportunity for people wanting to experience the unique feeling of snorkeling 20-30 miles off shore in some remote locations and getting face to face with elusive marine creatures for the first time!

Our totally unique operation in Port Douglas makes us the snorkelers choice as we take so few clients aboard per trip ensuring you’ll enjoy a very exclusive day. Our trips will take us to the outer reef where our special Great Barrier Reef Marine Park permit allows us to roam the reefs freely and be away from other tourists and crowded reef locations. We deliberately avoid setting a firm daily schedule and frequently change our snorkel locations, ensuring the wildlife acts naturally and doesn’t begin shying from busy spots, so the surprise “big ticket” sightings are frequent and amazing.

If one person dives and the other snorkels, this is no problem for Abc! We relish this combination and often you can dive snorkel together, as you will see by our combination of diver and snorkeler in our underwater photographs.

Includes

Included is all equipment (including wetsuits), free professional photographs of your day, lunch/snacks, drinks/tea/coffee.

Note that these are often additional extras on other tours.

As an added bonus, all snorkeling customers receive free electronic copies of underwater photographs taken of them during their snorkeling adventure. Why? ABC Scuba Diving Port Douglas love to see the smile on your face as you witness the wonders of the reef. Personal photos create the perfect souvenir of your stay.

You could be snorkeling with a marine biologist or naturalist who is a local, has many years of experience in these waters and will be able to identify the marine life you are looking at and will explain to you about the diversity of life on the reef.

Notes

This is not a “hold your hand day” or suitable for people who are not comfortable in the open ocean. If you are not confident in the water then we would suggest you go with one of the larger reef operators who cater for people who require life jackets and buoyancy aids.

Quicky - PADI Open Water Diver Course (3 Day)$1099.00
Description

“Blow Bubbles – No Troubles”

Becoming a PADI Open Water Diver is the beginning of a life long adventure, which enhances your time off work and holidays. For many, to dive the Great Barrier Reef is a life goal (bucket list), so choosing to become a PADI Open Water Diver on the Great Barrier Reef will set you apart.

The PADI Open Water Diver Course has three sections:

Knowledge Development – the five (5) sections teach you about the concepts, equipment selection, planning and team work involved in scuba diving.

Confined Water Dives – the five (5) sessions teach you to scuba dive in a controlled environment with no distractions, with skills like neutral buoyancy, buddy contact, swimming underwater and much more.

Open Water Dives – the four (4) dives give you a chance to show that you can scuba dive, you just demonstrate the same skills as you did in the pool. The five confined water dives have well prepared you to be here, on the Great Barrier Reef, the only difference is that now the fish are watching.

At ABC Dive and Snorkel, we pride ourselves on our quality and relaxed atmosphere throughout your PADI Open Water Diver Course. This is achieved with small class numbers, and also conducting all 5 pool dives separately to enhance your development and confidence, this is where you learn to dive. Remember “diving is fun and learning should be too”

With this option you need an access code issued through our web site, so that you can complete the study from the comfort of your home, on the other side of the world or country, with PADI eLearning. This means that your time commitment here is only three (3) days, two (2) of these days are diving on the Great Barrier Reef, while the first (1) day is spent in Port Douglas completing the 5 confined water dives. A great option for those who would like to get certified on the Great Barrier Reef, but have limited time available.

Please note that we strongly recommend partaking in a 4 or 5 day course if you have the time as it allows for a better understanding of the material and will ensure you are a more comfortable, safe and confident diver by the end of your course.

Includes

Required materials (manual, log book, dive tables)
Confined Water Dive sessions, five (5) of them
Knowledge Development sessions, five (5) of them
